Celebrate Charter Schools Week with us at Charter Day @ the Capitol on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Join parents, students, educators, and advocates from across Michigan to champion school choice and highlight the positive impact of charter schools. This is our opportunity to make our voices heard and shape the future of education. Visit us at the GLLA booth while you're there!

What is National Charter School Week? 
National Charter Schools Week in 2026 for Michigan is from April 20-24. The week is a celebration of public charter schools and the educators and advocates who support them. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of public education options for all children.

GLLA is a tuition-free virtual public charter school serving students in 6th-12th grade across the state of Michigan. Charter schools are free, independently-operated public schools that have the flexibility and autonomy to meet their students' needs. We are a proud partner of Central Michigan University's Center for Charter schools.

• Art Contest TBD 
• Make a direct impact by sending a letter or email to your legislators! Share your personal story about why your charter school is vital to your community and send it to your legislator!. Charter students, parents, and educators are encouraged to participate and let our lawmakers know how you feel about your charter school. If you are sending a letter in the mail please send it by TBD so that it arrives during National Charter School week. If you are sending an email send it anytime from between April 20-24.
