Experience Central is an exclusive event designed for junior and senior student leaders to explore what college life is all about. Join us for an immersive, day-in-the-life experience at Central Michigan University (CMU) to help prepare for your journey after high school.
You'll get a firsthand look at different professional fields through an interactive experience led by CMU faculty. You'll choose an academic workshop from CMU's six colleges, giving you a chance to see what it's really like to study in a field you're interested in. You'll leave with a better understanding of what it takes to prepare for and succeed in your chosen path, along with a glimpse into CMU's vibrant campus life.

Students must register in two separate places to meet the requirements of both CMU and GLLA. This ensures all policies are followed for a smooth trip.

Other schools will be attending by bus, and our students will have to provide their own transportation. GLLA requires that every student be accompanied by an adult for all school-sponsored events. Additionally, CMU requires all adults attending events to have a background check on file. This ensures the safety and security of all students, as well as compliance with the policies of both GLLA and CMU.

- Background Checks: GLLA will handle all background checks for accompanying adults through our school's ICHAT account and submit the information directly to CMU.
- Driver's License: To complete the background check, we will need a copy of the accompanying adult's driver's license.
- Chaperone Changes: If the adult accompanying a student needs to change, you must contact Courtney Paul at 810-447-0141 as soon as possible. We cannot accommodate any chaperone changes on the day of the event because they have to be submitted ahead of time.
