Frequently Asked Questions:
Will teachers be there? Yes! There will be teachers at every site although you might not see your teacher. We have several sites all over the state of Michigan that teachers will be traveling to for testing! Can my Homeroom Teacher guide me through testing? Your homeroom teacher can answer questions, help you prepare or show you where to find testing information, but they may not be at your actual testing site. Can I opt out of testing? No. Public schools are required by state and federal law to administer state standardized tests to students in specific grades or courses. Additionally, all students enrolled in a Connections Academy virtual public school are required to participate in the state standardized testing program. Do I need to bring my computer? No, please leave those at home! We will be providing all necessary computers and headphones for online tests. You may bring your own headphones if you prefer to use yours. Can a teacher drive me home? No, we are unable to provide transportation to students. All families must arrange their own transportation to and from testing sites. Who do I call if I have an emergency the day of testing and can’t make it? Call the school phone number (517-381-5062) to let them know the student's name, the site you were supposed to attend and why you cannot attend. If you do not get someone right away, please leave a message and we will have someone call you back to reschedule. Remember that if you are rescheduling your original testing site may not be available and you may have to travel further. How do I find out if I'm exempt from taking MME? You can find that information online: https://bit.ly/MustTakeMME Can I bring my own calculator? Possibly! Here is a list of approved calculators. What Can I do to prepare for testing?
